Attracting creative class is a key development factor for competitive cities in a globalizing world. Researchers have shown the importance of physical and non-physical factors in attracting creative class to a city. This paper reports the results of a survey undertaken among creative jobholders. The only non-physical factor more attractive than physical factors turns out to be availability of employment opportunities. The need for provision of participatory activities in open spaces is also revealed. Amongst physical factors, some ten urban qualities are found to be most attractive to creative class: accessibility; inclusiveness; climatic comfort; quality of public spaces; livability; quality of objective and perceived landscape; sensual experience; nature compatibility; and cleanliness of urban space.
