جستار در شکل نظریه هاى معمارى

چکیده

پایة معرفتى و مبانى نظرى هر حرفه اى نیاز به یک ساختار اولیة قوى و روشن دارد. با اینکه آنچه نظریة معمارى خوانده مى شود، بر طراحى هاى معماران و بر شکل و کیفیت محیط مصنوع تأثیر گذاشته است، اما اینکه اساساً تعریف نظریه در معمارى چیست و شکل و ساختار آن چگونه باید باشد، کمتر مورد بررسى قرار گرفته و بر سر این موضوع در میان صاحب نظران و پژوهشگران معمارى اختلاف نظرهایى هست. شناخت شکل نظریة معمارى علاوه بر آنکه موجب توسعة دانش نظرى معمارى مى شود، در کاهش اختلاف نظرها و ایجاد توافق کلى و نیز در کمک به ارزیابى علمى نظریه ها و آثار معمارى حاصل از آن ها نقش بسزایى دارد. این پژوهش ابتدا با نگاهى تاریخى به نقش و جایگاه نظریة معمارى در دوره هاى قبل از مدرن، مدرن، و پس از مدرن پرداخته و سپس با تحلیل این روند تاریخى و کسب آگاهى از چیستى نظریة معمارى، چهار دیدگاه متفاوت که در خصوص نظریة معمارى و شکل و ساختار آن مطرح گردیده اند را مورد بررسى قرار مى دهد. نتایج حاصله نشان مى دهد که چگونه تبیین رابطة نظریه هاى اثباتى و هنجارى به درک ساختار نظریه هاى معمارى کمک نموده و هویت مستقل نظریه هاى معمارى را آشکار مى کند.

A review of architectural history demonstrates willingness on part of architects to theorize. Nevertheless, due to its particular nature, the form of architectural theory is different as compared with other disciplines. Despite being influential, architectural theories have rarely been formulated in an adequate theoretical format in the past—they are more theory talk than theory proper. Only recently have architectural theoreticians have tried to develop an architectural theory with an epistemological approach rather than the former ontological treatment. Notwithstanding their immediate explicit differences, these recent theories implicitly share some key principles. A review of these theories demonstrates that they all employ two types of normative and positive theorems. These theorems dynamically interact with, support each other, and form the final format of the architectural theory in question. Validity assessment of an architectural theory thus includes an assessment of its positive and normative aspects
