مطالعات باغ اسلامى و شکل باغ ایرانى

چکیده

مطالعات باغ اسلامى از دهة 1970 م و با تکیه بر مطالعات دهه هاى پیشین حجم قابل توجهى یافته است. این حوزة مطالعاتى با وجود نگاه قابل توجه به پدیدة منظرسازى، گستره اى وسیع را در بر مى گیرد و با نوعى کلى نگرى همراه است. به نظر مى رسد که این نوع نگاه محصول همگن دانستن ویژگى هاى جوامع اسلامى و فقدان تلاش براى تفکیک میان حوزه هاى فرهنگىِ متفاوت باشد. مطالعات یادشده معمولاً براى شناخت ریشه هاى باغ اسلامى ارجاعاتى فراگیر به باغ سازى در ایران مى دهند و سپس باغ هاى ایرانى را با نتایج یافته هاى خود ارزیابى و شناسایى مى کنند. در این مطالعات، معمولاً تفسیر واژگان فارسىِ مربوط به باغ با گونه هایى خاص از باغ ارتباط داده مى شود. بر اساس چنین نارسایى هایى، این پرسش قابل طرح است که شکل باغ ایرانى بر اساس مطالعات باغ اسلامى چگونه تبیین مى شود. در این مقالة انتقادى، براى پاسخ دادن به پرسش طرح شده، عمدتاً از نتایج پژوهش هاى محققان حوزة مطالعات باغ اسلامى بهره گیرى و به این موضوع نیز پرداخته مى شود که نگرش به باغ ایرانى بر مبناى روش هاى گسترش یافتة منتج از مطالعات باغ اسلامى با چه مشکلاتى روبه رو خواهند شد. در مقاله به سیر گسترش باغ سازى در دو منطقة واقع شده در غرب و شرق ایران توجه خواهد شد. در مقاله تلاش مى شود که مشکلات و نارسایى هاى مطالعات یادشده به همراه چگونگى شروع آن ها و همچنین ریشه هاى چنین نگرشى شناخته و معرفى شوند. نتایج مطالعه نشان مى دهد که جداى از مشکلات درونى حوزة مطالعات باغ اسلامى، نگاه این حوزه به باغ سازى ایرانى، گونه ها، و واژگان پرکاربرد آن دقیق نیست و این بى دقتى دست کم فهم گوناگونى شکلى باغ در ایران را دشوار مى کند.

Islamic Gardens have been the subject of recurrent and voluminous studies since 1970s. A prevailing assumption in most such studies is that Islamic societies are more or less the same. Differences in climate, geography and cultures are therefore not taken into account. Furthermore, these studies refer to pre-Islamic Persian gardens as an archetype with which they compare with their findings. Differences between garden design in east and west of the Persian Empire are not considered, either. Persian garden terms such as ‘paradise’ are also evasively used. This paper presents a critical review of current studies and through a review of gardens of east and west of Iran, tries to clarify the place of the Persian Garden in formation of Islamic Gardens. On this basis, the origins of diversity in Islamic garden design are also explained.
