Since 1999, the continuous Master of Architecture courses were reduced to Bachelor level. This accelerated the launch of such courses since 1989 so that by 2007 a total of 3,209 students were studying for a B Arch degree in various schools in Iran. This significant increase in the number of students has caused concerns on ensuring a minimum educational standard. This paper surveys views of architecture professors on the output of B Arch courses. The impact of two important factors on the quality of education—length and faculty capacity—is then assessed. On this basis, recommendations are made for improving the quality of these courses.
