Abstract
This paper reviews paradigms for design research to formulate design process as a pragmatic procedure. In this effort, the role of designer is defined and approaches to design as a rational problem solving process or as a reflective practice is demarcated. Furthermore, the dimensions for design activity are stipulated and present a general model of dynamic design process.
