Abstract
Located on the 29 degrees latitude, Booshehr City boasts a warm and humid climate with long hours of solar radiation. Therefore, installation of overhangs as shading devices over windows is an efficient method for reducing heat loads and energy saving. To design efficient overhangs, the annual need for shading is calculated using temperature statistics. On this basis, three overhangs are designed for south, east and west windows. The designed overhangs are then tested in a simulation for their efficiency.
